School is back in session, parents are back to work, and the weather is quickly cooling down. Spice up those valuable weekends for the whole family by taking part in one of these fun fall activities! Go to the local pumpkin patch Start your autumn off by stopping by the local pumpkin patch! Pick some pumpkins for the kids to decorate later and hop on the tractor for a fun hayride! Some pumpkin patches even have corn mazes for kids to run through! Decorate pumpkins Your front stoop is starting to look a little boring, so why not decorate some adorable pumpkins to liven things up? Help your little ones carve, paint, and decorate their pumpkins and watch as their creativity shines through! Don't forget to add some Mom and Dad pumpkins, too! Apple picking Head on over to the local apple orchard to pick some delicious fresh apples. Kids will have so much fun picking the apples and maybe even snacking on them throughout the orchard! Bake a fall treat Nothing quite beats the smell of freshly baked apple pie on a crisp autumn day. After your apple picking adventure, head on over to the oven and allow your little one to help you bake some delicious apple pie for an after dinner treat! You can also say, "Good morning, fall!" by waking up to the smell of fresh pumpkin donuts in the morning! Find your favorite pumpkin donut recipe, grab the step stools, and have your kids help you make a delicious breakfast! Leaf art Grab some leaves from outside and start getting creative! You can use the leaf as a stencil and paint around it on a piece of paper to create a beautiful piece of leaf art! You can also paint the leaf itself and use it as a stamp on a piece of paper. You and your kiddos can even challenge yourself by tracing and painting the leaf directly onto a pumpkin for a cute fall decoration! Go to a local football game School is in full swing and so is the football season! Support your favorite middle school, high school, or college team by taking the whole family to a football game. Put on your hats, scarves, and boots and cheer, "Go, team, go!" Go to a local fall festival Fall festivals are a great place to take the kids! Enjoy some rides, games, shows, and yummy snacks by heading over to the local festival. The kids will have a great time winning some prizes and munching on a funnel cake! Jump into a pile of leaves Nothing says "fall" quite like jumping into a newly raked pile of fallen leaves. Bring the kids outside to rake up a huge pile of leaves and join them for a cannonball into the foliage. A tedious outdoor task just turned into a whole lot of family fun! |
