The River Center functions as an important part of the San Joaquin River Parkway Conservation Trust. Today, our Ladybug, Canary Bird, Bunny Rabbit, and Turtle classes joined their "Bug Buddies" program for an exploration in which they took a nature hike around the pond; looking for different types of bugs, birds and even the occasional turtle! They then moved on to story time with Teacher A.J. where they learned that insects have a head, a thorax, and an abdomen, along with six legs, four wings and antennae too. The preschool classes then finished up their excursion with some bug themed Dramatic Play before completing their own butterfly craft. All in all, an exciting day spent out exploring nature and our surroundings! |
